Summer feeding appeal

Right now, families in Ethiopia are facing a crisis. Due to the sudden freeze in USAID funding, vital food aid is stalled, clinics are closing, and millions of people, including young children, are struggling to find their next meal. The hunger that was already a daily reality for so many has now deepened into desperation.1

At St. George’s, we refuse to let children go hungry.

Our summer feeding programme has always been a lifeline, ensuring that while school is out for three months, children and their families still have enough to eat. This year, as food insecurity worsens across the country, the need is greater than ever. Without this programme, many of these children will go hungry.

We urgently need to raise £7,500 to provide food supplies—including wheat flour, teff, and rice—for over 600 children and their families. Just £11 is enough to keep an entire family fed for the whole summer. It’s such a small amount, yet it means everything to a mother watching her child waste away from malnutrition.

This is our moment to act.

Please, if you can, donate today through our JustGiving page. Every pound you give puts food on a child’s plate, restores strength to a hungry family, and gives hope where there is despair.

Together, we can keep these children fed. We can stand in the gap when others have stepped away. We can show them they are not forgotten.

Thank you for making a difference.
